There is nothing sweeter to my heart though, than to think
about the Truth of God. A simple relying
on the Holy Spirit leads my mind down the path of precious realities. Here's a list of some of those thoughts:
1) The
Father's Great Love for us.
2) The
Redemption we have in Christ Jesus, the forgiveness of sins.
3) The unending
Grace of God and Peace of God ceaselessly coming from the Father and from the
Lord Jesus Christ. (The greeting in all
the epistles).
4) The work
of the Spirit of God within to keep our minds centered on Jesus and the Truth
that is our freedom and life.
5) The
precious blood of Jesus that has washed away our sins, but continually cleanses
from the daily things that affect us.
6) The
eternal life God has planned for us - the inheritance we obtained in Christ as
joint-heirs - ALL because of His great price paid on our behalf.
7) The fact
He will never leave us nor forsake us and is working in us until the day of
Christ.
When we look in the Word of Life, we find even more
treasures to wrap our hearts and minds around - we can stay encouraged until we
see Him.
This morning though, I center on another precious truth as
an encouragement. It's regarding the
Spirit of God dwelling in our hearts.
The Lord Jesus said The Spirit was coming, as recorded in John's
Gospel. And in John 4 He called Him that
well springing up. Later on, He referred
to Him (and the Spirit is the Father and the Son) as rivers of living water.
The well of God's Spirit is in us. He is underlying - just like a well in the
natural. You cannot see a well. But you must drill, go down deep for the
water to be accessed. In the natural you
have to have the right kind of equipment to drill and get that water. In the days of the Lord Jesus, it was a
bucket and a long rope.
The well though, that our Lord referred to and is here now
within us, does not need the natural instruments. There's one thing that pulls it up and out of
our hearts.
Faith.
This is what I believe God works on the most in our
lives. He is perfecting our Faith. We are admonished to walk by faith as the
justified people of God. Romans 5:1
"The just shall
LIVE by faith."
Once we realized how eternal and fixed the Word of God is,
we can become stronger in our reliance upon God's Word.
"The Word of God lives and abides FOREVER."
"Thank you, dear
Heavenly Father for the Word You have eternally spoken (then had written
down). Thank you, that this precious
work of Your Son is eternal. You want us
to rely completely on the Truth - not this present world and it's wavering
lies. Only Your precious Truth. And thank you, You have given us Your Spirit
not only to strengthen us, but to cause us to focus and know the Truth. And thank you for the precious Spirit, Who is
Life within - who is Peace within - who is the river of life flowing with
wisdom, fruit, direction, power - all we ever need for life and godliness on
this planet. Cause us to know even more
deeply, Father - even more strongly - all that You are and all that You have
done. You alone, are our Eternal
Treasure. Amen."
