Fellowship with the Father and His Son

In reviewing what has made the greatest difference in my entire life, it has come down to one major thing.

And what is that?

"And truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son, Jesus Christ."

I John 1:3

What this means to me and for me is that God the Father and His Son, Jesus are living Persons.  When I speak to God, I listen for His response through insights by His Spirit and through His Word - teaching me, instructing me, revealing the Truth to my heart.

And when He speaks to me in this way, I then respond to Him.  For isn't this what we do with people?  If they share with us, we respond - if we share with them, we want to know they are listening and hopefully, want to hear their thoughts.

May we always want to hear what God is speaking to us.

God lives in His body too - we are a habitation of Him through His Spirit.  We want to hear our brothers and sisters also speak to us of what they have heard from the Father and from the Lord - what all He is teaching them.  We compare notes.

God says too we are all are to be of one mind and judgment.  It sounds reasonable to me that, if we are being instructed by Him and listening to the Lord, we do arrive at the same thing.  Why? Because the Spirit is no one else but the Truth.

²⁶ These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. ²⁷ As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him. 

 

I John 2:26, 27

It is refreshing to know too that God is not a respecter of persons - nor does He talk behind our backs getting sides and parties started against one another.  He has shown us that if we look to Jesus, we shall stand upright, think right, conclude right, and be right - but only by, through and in Him.  And God may send a brother or sister to us to help us hear Him, if we're not listening too well - for the devil is a deceiver and a liar.

What a security to know that our Lord wants us to experience His mind which the Scriptures tell us is life and peace.  Romans 8

If our peace is disturbed - if we are in confusion - if we are distressed and not clear, we run to our Lord and receive His mind on all things is to have abundance of peace from Him and by Him.

Yes, truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, the Lord Jesus - we trust the LIVING God - not ourselves, but HIM because He does not lead us astray or into the world's way and sway.

"Thank you dear Father God and thank you, Lord Jesus Christ for living in us - thank you for the Holy Scriptures - that Your Spirit does lead and guide us into ALL Truth - to participate in your Divine Nature and Mind is the greatest thing.  Thank you that it is your will to show us all things that pertain to this life and godliness.  Thank you that you will never lead us astray or wrongly.  Thank you that You supply abundant wisdom and grace for everything.  We sincerely are grateful to be your children and to have You dwelling in our hearts.  And thank you that you are our all - strength, power, goodness, wisdom, life, peace, joy, and love - Amen!"
