Only The Truth Transforms Us

ONLY THE TRUTH TRANSFORMS US!

I love the book of Hosea.  It is incredible.  God told Hosea to marry a whore.  It was to be a picture of God’s great love and the coming work of redemption of Jesus Christ.  “We are married to Christ.”  Romans 7:1

“I will call those who were not My people, ‘My people,’
And her who was not beloved, ‘beloved.’”
²⁶ “And it shall be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘you are not My people,’
There they shall be called sons of the living God.”

¹² remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, ^[i]excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. ¹³ But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off ^[j]have been brought near ^[k]by the blood of Christ.

God, through the work of His Son (and His secret kept throughout past time), offered the Gentiles to become the people of God (still offered to the Jew too).   This GREAT SALVATION was NOT anything like the Old Testament – God did something incredible – He brought HIS SON to fulfill all things proving man in his fleshly effort was INCAPABLE.  It is through the SON now ALL those who come to HIM are made alive and have hope of glory.

And God did something far greater than what was understood.  He was making a people more than a nation, but members of His Son’s Body.  This is so intimate.  Ephesians tells us more about this:

“…for no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as Christ also does the church, ³⁰ because we are members of His body.” ³¹ 

Now all members of the Lord’s body are important.  They are placed carefully into the living Person of the Head – the ONE whom guides, directs, impulses His plan and will.  Let us be truly careful how we treat His members.

God’s will is that each member become SO aware of the fact we are in HIM – His member.  He loves and cherishes His WHOLE body.

We are God’s temple.  And just like the human body, when something foreign is introduced, all kinds of problems happen.  There is to be tranquility coming from God as TRUTH and LIFE to each member.  We have a GREAT SALVATION in that the Spirit of God IS LIFE and PEACE AND TRUTH.

I will close with a song I really love.  Oh may God’s Spirit push down into the depths of our being, the LIVING TRUTH of CHRIST so that HIS WORDS dwell in us RICHLY and DEEPLY with ALL HIS WISDOM!

And one last thing…if my life and walk is about anything I am doing to “earn” ANYTHING from God, I’ve not yet come into the perfect faith regarding God’s Son. 

Everything I do is to be a result from which God made me to be in His Son – not the cause.  If I learn this well, I will know the fullness of God’s grace and mercy found in the face of Jesus Christ.  “I do not frustrate the GRACE of God.”

A mind at perfect peace with God,

Oh what a word is this

A sinner reconciled to God

This, this is indeed is peace

By nature and by practice far

So very far from God

Yet now by faith brought nigh to Him

Through faith in Jesus’ blood

So near, so very near to God

I cannot nearer be

For in the Person of God’s Son

I am as near as He

So dear, so very dear to God

I cannot dearer be

The love with which God loves the Son

Such is His love to me

Why should I ever anxious be

When such a God is mine

He watches o’er me night and day

And tells me, “Thine is mine!”
