Renewal of the Mind - Part IV

One of the greatest words in the Scriptures  is "whosoever," used in phrases such as "whosoever believes in Me shall not be ashamed," "whosoever shall believe in Him shall not perish," "whosoever shall drink..."

It is amazing that God has opened the door to the heavens where the Table of Life, Grace, Mercy, and Peace resides.  He invites all to come and partake.  It is the Spirit of God who helps us "see" the Truth on the Table, He enables us to partake of it in faith, then He also enables us to assimilate it into our thoughts in spiritual wisdom and understanding.

The war of the heavens is to blind minds, to distract, to dissipate, to corrupt, and to thwart. "In whom the god of this world has blinded the minds that believe not, lest the light of the glorious Gospel of Christ, who is the image of God should shine unto them."  II Corinthians 4:4

Since we already believe, God has already shined His light in our hearts.  He is not hiding grace, mercy, and peace from us.  He is not hiding Truth - In I Corinthians 2 it says the Spirit freely reveals.

It's the devil that deceives us into thinking, or tries to that we are not able to receive, because of this or that.  God is always waiting to show us the riches of His Son so we are strengthened in faith, in our walk, in our inheritance in Christ.

Renewal of the mind is laying a firm foundation first of all that WE ARE in Christ.  Hell can't take you out of Him.  The GRIP of God's Hand is sure.   So we let Him take it from there.   And that's part of it too:  "Just let Him."  Always letting Jesus Christ be the leader, the thought and Truth giver, the Life infuser, the Peace Speaker, and again, the Truth to the mind in all things.

Man can get corrupted no doubt - even Christians.  If this was not so, the Word of God then would have not warned us to "do not be deceived."  Corruption is out there.  However, where is my faith?  Is it not in Jesus Christ who says He keeps and guards us from the evil one?  Is He not saving us to the uttermost?  Is He just Savior once or Savior all the time?

So it would be impossible to really be a fruitful Christian without constantly walking and fellowshipping with the One Who is the Source of our Life, Way, and Truth.

Renewal of the mind to my heart is a continuance of faith in and of the Lord.  The spirit/my heart is indeed the essence of my will and desire and surely where Christ came to dwell.  But I also believe my whole being is saved as well!  My mind is part of me and Jesus Christ by His Spirit is shining light into it so I can "see," I can be strengthened daily in Truth.

Ephesians 4:23 tells us "And be renewed in the spirit of your mind."

The heart and the mind are together.  It is in the heart where God's transaction of life took place - where the Spirit of God came to dwell - where I was made alive.  But in my mind, I am becoming more fruitful in spiritual understanding and wisdom - this is the inheritance and will of God concerning ALL saints.

The armor of God is a wonderful thing.  God tells us to put it on.  The first thing God tells us to do is Stand.  THEN have our "loins girded about with Truth."  Peter wrote this:"Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."  I Peter 1:13.

This GRACE that is to be brought to us in FULLNESS is SO astounding that Paul wrote in Ephesians 2:7
"That in the ages to come, He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus."

To stay sober and to gird up is simply to stay in continual feasting upon the Truth - to speak the Truth in love to one another in psalms, hymns, spiritual songs, exhortations, Word of God in Truth, reminders, and keeping Christ Jesus ever before our hearts and our minds.

"Lord, what glorious Light will you shed upon our hearts and minds today concerning You, the Father's will, Your powerful wisdom, Your unending GRACE and MERCY, and anything You want to show us?

Listening with You,
