Romans - Much More and More Than

Romans 8 is such a precious piece of this entire letter to the Christians at Rome.  I am imaging what Paul was sensing by God's Holy Spirit as he penned by perfect, Holy Spirit inspiration and guidance, the entire letter to them.

The letter contains so much and Romans 8 is the peak of all that he was writing to them of Christ and true Christianity.   In Romans 9 through 11 he addresses Israel which is also important - and how all that fits in with the end times.  God of course, is not through with Israel.

But now we live on this planet and Paul was speaking of the HOW through the Spirit of Life found in Christ Jesus.  AND found in us.  Now we are the body of Christ, both of Jews and Gentiles - we were placed into Christ, born of God's Spirit.

In Romans 5 Paul used two words "Much More," regarding the GRACE of God in comparison to sin and death.

In Romans 8, Paul uses two words, "More Than," in regard to being a conqueror BECAUSE of the Much More found in the grace of God in Christ Jesus.

He closes this part too, with the love of God that is indestructible, especially for the saint and child of God.  Yes, the love of God is indestructible.

Though we have trials in this world, though the sufferings are real in one form or another, though we even struggle at times with being in this jar of clay (waiting for the resurrection of our bodies), though we at times are faced with attacks from the evil one, whatever the case may be - we are MORE THAN conquerors through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

The smashing points for me personally found in Romans 8 have been the following:
1)            We are in Christ through the Spirit of God - not in flesh which represents Adam - the old creation.
2)            The Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus IS in us.  He that is joined to the Lord is one Spirit with Him.
3)            The Spirit's mind is in us - we are led by Him in thinking and in doing.
4)            The Spirit's mind is life and peace.
5)            We will be clothed with immortality in our bodies.  Yet the sufferings of this present world CANNOT and are not worthy to be compared to the glory that will be revealed.
6)            The Spirit of God gave us the spirit of adoption.  We can say and do cry, "Abba Father."
7)            The Spirit of God in our hearts helps ALL our infirmities, especially in prayer!
8)            We are MORE THAN conquerors through and in Christ Jesus, our Lord by His Spirit and HIs Word.
9)            The Love of God is ours in Him.   We CANNOT be separated from God's love.

I believe if I do not take the effort to make these truths the priority of my heart and life, I will not walk in the Spirit of Life experientially.  But to lay hold of these truths is to have a true experience and growth in the Lord.  May we do so and with all of our hearts.

Glory to our Lord!
