I asked the Lord for an
encouragement from Him about renewal of the mind.
What could He say to our hearts that
is SO encouraging, that the words themselves are renewing the mind?
And I can hear Him ask some
questions: "What is it that
every soul truly needs above all? Do they need to hear Me constantly correcting
them or conveying some displeasure? What really does change a person? Do
you know that answer?"
And with those questions, I think
about a real answer. I believe every soul needs to be able to
receive the true love of God in such a way that ministers to them, not as an
event or just as an experience, but as a genuine renewal of their whole being
that is everlasting. Whether it be knowledge, wisdom, peace,
salvation, and understanding, it is all rooted and centered in the
Love. And the Love is God.
Christ died because of Love - He was
sent because of Love. The Word conveys that His Love is intense. "For
His great Love wherewith He loved us..."
Ephesians 2:4
Next question I think about is that
the Scriptures do correct us. But God has already explained
this. What earthly father who LOVES their child, does not correct
them? God has made this clear. And He does it all for
profit to the soul, the entire being.
The next question is what really
changes a person? If someone is sick on earth, what does a person
"try" to do? We all have sought for some substance to make
us or them well, some remedy, some routine, something to be
well. This is true whether it is body or mind (soul).
We can speak of all the reasons for
our dysfunctions, but the cure is what we need to speaking of over and over
again. Jesus Christ Himself is the Substance.
Many times believers have
"frictions" because they/we cannot sense the Love of Christ - only
criticisms, oughts, shoulds, that's not right, this is right, oh you have a
spot on your nose, on your life. The Pharisees did this to Jesus - their
religion and law was more important than "seeing" Christ Himself -
the Living God in human form. If they had opened their hearts to Him, He
would have poured in their hearts, His very compassion, life, and love.
We
will not genuinely love our brother in truth, until we have first known the
LOVE ourselves.
In our soul realm, we gathered
information all our lives and had experiences, grew up in schools, influences
of the world, damage from our sinfulness, you name it. It is like we had been in a bad car
wreck. We don't condemn people who have experienced car
wrecks. And for some it takes a while to "get over" being
all banged up from one.
The same is true for the soulish
part of man. There are degrees of damage. Degrees of
infiltration of the enemy's lies. And no one on this earth can
explain how one person comes out more quickly than another - how one person is
transformed "away" from those things more than another.
There is a Balm in
Gilead. If we could put Jesus Christ and the Father in liquid form
like a potion, something we could actually put our hands on and KNOW it was
Liquid Love, we'd all be drinking and drinking and drinking!
Yet you and I CAN drink all we want
- it's just through faith, in the Holy Spirit we are made to drink of Living
Waters which is simply God as LOVE. Ephesians 3
God as Love transforms. It is Love that purifies, Love that washes,
cleanses, nourishes, brings Light to the mind, brings understanding, brings
constant hope, power, and LIFE. NO religion in the world is
love. Only God Himself.
All must come to Jesus in order to
TRULY be saved and renewed. If they/we do not, then it truly is a "form of godliness, but denying the
power." His Love IS Power. The Power of YOUR Love, oh God.
Let us ask for a revelation of the Love of God.
Oh that we would indeed know and believe the
LOVE that God has for each one of us. John the Apostle wrote in I
John, "We have known and
believed the Love God has for us..." He also said in
the first chapter that they had seen the Lord (when He was on earth) and their
hands had actually handled Him.
Paul comes along and says, "We
no longer know Him after the flesh...." He means we all now
know Him by the Spirit of the Living God. And His wonderful Words of
Life.
The ministry of the Spirit of God
within us is important. He makes the Lord Jesus Christ REAL to the
heart, the mind, the entire being of a person. He also ministers the
Life of God's Word to our hearts - He gets it in there! And He Himself IS Jesus Christ, the Salvation,
the Redeemer.
Oh my, today be with The BELOVED and
let us allow HIM to minister the LOVE, the GOD, our Father, our Savior and Lord
to our hearts. This is what every person truly needs, ALWAYS.
Leaning on the Arms of the Beloved
Jesus,
Sue Gaither
