The Blood of Jesus Christ

The Gospel of Jesus Christ – and as God says it “The Glorious Gospel of God,” is the ONLY secure “thing” in the universe.  The blood of Abel, as the Scriptures say, still speaks from the ground.  But the blood of Jesus Christ speaks from heaven ETERNALLY!  Hebrews 13.

“There are three that bear witness in heaven:  the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one.  And there are three that bear witness on earth:  the Spirit, the water, and the blood, and these three agree as one.”  I John 5.

On Mount Calvary outside of Jerusalem, a REAL blood was spilt, shed.  A real Person was crucified on a cross.  Jesus blood flowing from his body ran down and did go into the ground.  What a picture!  He made an open door on the earth for man – any person – to be sanctified, brought into fellowship with Almighty God.  He made an open door for inhabitants of the earth to be reconciled with God and also made a new creature in and through His Son.

We don’t hear much about the blood of Jesus Christ in many sermons, do we?  How important is it?

“Therefore, brethren, having BOLDNESS to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith…”

We did not see Jesus crucified nor His body broken on Calvary, nor His blood poured out on our behalf.  BUT we have the Holy Spirit dwelling inside as a WITNESS of the TRUTH.  He ALWAYS bears witness to God’s Word of Truth and Life.  ALWAYS.  When we believe God’s TRUTH, we are FILLED with joy and peace.  (Romans 15:13).

Ephesians and Colossians speak that we HAVE redemption through Jesus’ blood – Colossians speaks Jesus Christ made peace with God for us through the blood of His cross!  Hebrews speaks that the blood of bulls and goats COULD NOT cleanse a conscience – year after year they would have to return for forgiveness.  However, the BLOOD OF JESUS PURGES any conscience of shame, guilt, and all those things which keep a person from going to God – FAITH in His blood!

It is by coming to God we are changed, transformed.  Man cannot sanctify himself for God. We are sanctified through His Son – so if we are out there on our own trying to be holy, holy, holy without God, we’ve certainly missed the wonder and the power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - WHO it is who now, dwells within our spirits ALL because of the GRACE of God.

Oh how we simply need to focus on the wonder of Jesus Christ and His Work of Redemption, living and walking fully in faith of Him.  In doing so, we are secure because we believe.

We do good works because of our faith, resting in the reality that CHRIST has changed us – not our works.  This would be mere performance and rooted in fear.  Yes, go out today and do good – but that goodness is not making you whole, nor is it shutting off sin’s power in our members. 

ONLY JESUS CHRIST alone is ALWAYS our Savior – ALWAYS.  We walk free because we ARE FREE in Him.  Just HIM.  And BECAUSE of our freedom I can walk well – not having to prove a thing – for I do what I do because HE changed me in my heart and I have faith in God’s precious TRUTH that I am a NEW creature – ALL BECAUSE OF JESUS!

“Thank you dear God for the TRUTH of your WORD – for JESUS CHRIST WHO PAID IT ALL – Your Son now dwells in us THROUGH YOUR SPIRIT–we are secure in HIM.  Thank you for your shed blood, Lord Jesus – for suffering on the cross for us that we could be reconciled to God as dear children.  We have FAITH in the work of YOUR SON, and His blood.  We believe YOU work in us, Lord and we are blessed with EVERY spiritual blessings in the heavenly places in CHRIST JESUS!  AMEN!”
