Dine With Jesus

Gary and I have been spending each morning going through a structured way of examining our thought life, by allowing the Holy Spirit to bring to mind thoughts that seem to still be a part of our soul.  It is rather amazing that when one is completely still, ready and yielded, God reveals things.

The purpose though is to make God's Word richer, deeper, and implanted in us.  Not a mere memorized "belief" but a true, living, active, powerful Word of life within the spirit and may I add, the soul.

We've all been shaped throughout our lives by family, school, outside influences, church, teachings (truth or error), in all kinds of ways.

God's way is to indeed, conform us to the true image of His Son.  That would mean an obvious "clearing out," get rid of, tossing away of ALL thoughts and "beliefs" that exalt themselves against the true knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Some believe you do not have to go to some effort to have the Word implanted inside the human heart.  Well someone should have told Jesus then, because when He was on earth He gave the parable - a powerful one too, that the seed of the sower is the Word of God, sown into the heart taking root and bringing forth fruit - that if not possessed, the devil can steal the Word of God that was heard.

Now the Pharisees did not acknowledge Jesus Christ, nor His works and fruit.  So people on the outside can be used by the enemy to stir up things attacking and coming against something that is really true and happening to us.  So this is not always the only "monitor" as to whether the Word of God has/is taking root inside of us and bringing forth fruit.  They did this with Paul, too.

What then, is another really good monitor?

Praise the Lord we have God's Word to even help us here.  Paul wrote in Romans 15:13 that joy and peace are one of the greatest hallmarks for us to know that God's Word is truly alive in us.  Not to mention the Spirit of liberty - freedom, rest, clarity; life and peace in the mind - wisdom of our Lord. 

Do you have real joy and peace growing in you?

Now here is a word for someone or someones - I just know it in my heart.  You woke up one day and you have found yourself on a shore of life that you do not from your heart of hearts, want to be.  The devil has whispered that you are too far along to get rid of those "mountains of thoughts" created in your soul and life.

It's easier now to be carrying around a huge mountain inside your soul, than to even think about having it removed.  It's too big.

Well, it's a lie.  A huge lie too.  That's the devil's business:  to make us believe a lie anytime, anyplace, at any season of our life.  His workshop still exists and He is very crafty at his art.

But, but, but...God!  Now the greatest gift God has given us is His Holy Spirit living inside our hearts.  He was given that we may KNOW.  He was given to guide us into ALL Truth.  He was given to guard our hearts and minds from ALL evil thoughts, erroneous thinking, the craftiness of satanic and destructive work of every kind.

We are assured that God is for us - not against us.  Yet it remains - HOW do we really understand and get out of a mess of thoughts that obviously are bearing daily fruit we do not like?

One of his lies again, is that the mountain is too big.  Mountains of thoughts and thinking.  So please listen.  God gave this to me in my heart yesterday and it's for that person or any person (and a glorious reminder to my own heart).

One thought - just one thought of truth from the Holy Spirit and God's Word ILLUMINATED personally and deeply to our heart CREATES a MOUNTAIN of hope - that's what you need - a new mountain  that chips away at the crazy created mountain in the mind which to HIM, is but a tiny dustball.

It's not how much we think we know that is going to save us anyway.  It's truly allowing the Lord's Spirit to show us inside of our hearts just how great, big, huge, marvelous, life-giving, and saving and WILLING, JESUS CHRIST is - the One Who is ALL Truth, Life, and the way in ALL things.

And each day it is His purpose and desire to dine with us - give us ALL His thoughts of TRUTH and LIFE.  When He serves a meal, His meal is ALIVE with life, peace, joy, fruit, goodness, freedom, and hope.

He said this in Revelation 3:20 "BEHOLD, I stand at the door (of your heart) knocking - do you hear Him?  If ANY man HEARS my VOICE - AND opens the door of his heart (for some He's been there, but been ignored FAR too long), I WILL, I WILL, I WILL come into HIM (and if already a child of God, He WILL show you and me the TABLE has been set and ready) AND...

DINE with him, and he with ME!

Don't know how much more intimate, personal, precious and loving dining with Jesus can be.  This is not fairytale stuff - this is real and exactly what every child of God needs now and until He comes.

And He says, "Where have you been, child?  Supper's ready!"
