Sometimes we forget the reason God sent Jesus Christ
to the earth.
He came to save.
And He wants to save us.
Now the Tablets of Stone on which Moses wrote God's
Law of commandments did not come out of heaven.
What did? Who
did?
The Spirit came and overshadowed Mary's womb making
a little baby boy. What?!? A Person?
And Jesus grew.
Then at the time of his appearing at age 30, God
filled Him with the Holy Spirit. This
man never sinned - not even in His childhood.
And we are told He began an earthly ministry.
He demonstrated grace and truth, light, glory,
compassion, mercy, forgiveness, healing, salvation.
This blessed person died on the cross bearing the
sins of humanity - the loss of eternal life through Adam - the disobedience of
Adam that spread to all men.
And because of absolute innocence regarding Himself
(only He was bearing our death), God raised Him from the dead.
There we have it.
The Gospel of God.
And then Pentecost.
Because of Jesus' work of the cross and resurrection, God could now send
Him back to live in us!
Another baby is born. We too are "overshadowed" with
God's Holy Spirit. A work of
regeneration is done in the human spirit.
Dead, now made alive through Him.
What else?
Our spirits grow in Him. We grow solely through grace and knowledge of
Jesus Christ - the Life, the Glory, the Spirit of God.
But something more amazing to me is that we learn
more of Him as go on in this walk. We do
learn about that Tabernacle in the Old Testament, about the Most Holy Place -
and how that only the High Priest could enter once a year.
And we learn that Christ is the High Priest now (there's only One). And Jesus did not come through the Levitical
Priesthood. This is critical for us to
understand.
No, He is the High Priest through the Line of Judah
and the one Hebrews says that we who were once dead, dead, dead but now made
alive in Him, get to come fellowship with the Father God through HIM, and His precious blood in that MOST HOLY
PLACE.
We are told Jesus Christ is now the Man Risen in the
Heavenly Places - given a more excellent ministry AND the Minister of the
Heavenly Sanctuary. And remember, we are
invited by God to partake, partake, partake ALL through the Grace of God in the
Face of Jesus Christ. Through Him and
only through Him, are our lives transformed.
I believe what is wrong with the Church is we forget
the Glorious Gospel of God. Here is,
what I believe, is a great question to ask a fellow believer, to ask each
other.
"Hey,
what is the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ been teaching you lately? How is He touching your heart? How is He Himself changing your life, healing
your soul, refreshing your spirit in Him?"
"For
I am not ashamed of the Gospel, it IS the power of God!"
If
we do not sincerely follow the Living Lord Jesus Christ in our hearts, we end
up following the flesh dressed up in every form and fashion. If we DO follow Jesus, He promises to lead us
upward and onward into Himself bearing fruit for His glory.
Looking to Him,
Sue Gaither
