Renewal of the Mind - Part V

The greatest miracle (besides just being born again), you and I will ever experience on this planet is not just when God by a supernatural evidence heals our bodies,  demonstrates powerful provisions to our problems,  opens doors to some opportunity, etc.  BUT, it IS to have God change our minds about HIMSELF.  This to me, is the true renewal of the mind.

To truly understand and know God is the greatest gift He can ever bestow upon our lives.  Jeremiah 9:23 is one of my favorite Scriptures in all of the Book - as well as John 17:3.  Here they are: "Thus says the Lord, 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him who glories, glory in this, that he understands and knows me." And John 17:3: "And this is life eternal, that they may know You, the only True God, and Jesus Christ Whom You've sent."

To truly know God is to allow Him to do the teaching, the explaining, the impartation of wisdom and understanding in His ways, His Truth, His Word, and our life here on the planet.

All of this would take care of lies, falseness, wrong interpretations, self-will, carnality - you name it.  Most of all, it would cure our disappointments in this life and wrong conclusions.

The only thing I can think of that will even take us there is to want to have Him show us.   To say, "Yes, Lord, this is what I want!"

It may take a while for some of us, but if this is our goal, God has incredible patience and will demonstrate His patience over and over again.  For if are passionate about REALLY knowing Him and His Son, He's not going to squelch this.

Again, I cannot think of any other way to having a genuinely renewed mind.  The benefits then will be to have a glorious relationship and fellowship with the True and Living God as our Father, and the True and Living Son, Jesus Christ as our Lord, Savior, Brother, Friend, Deliverer, Truth, Way, and Life.

For years and years and years, we have had access to so much Bible knowledge.  And now on the internet, anyone can find explanations of many, many things.  Go to Blue Letter Bible and have Hebrew and Greek at your fingertips.

Yet none of those things can give you a heart that wants to really know the Lord - to have Him teach in a daily life HOW He is working in us by grace, mercy and peace - ALL the time.  To take the effort to listen, see, observe Him again, on a daily basis.   Now, of course not knocking Bible knowledge - for as we read and study, it may indeed, fuel desire in our hearts to know God more!

However,  to WALK with Christ Jesus our Lord - to actually be aware of His presence all the time in us, through us, for us, to us - and as us (the true us), is the actual purpose of the knowledge in the first place.  Jesus Christ died and rose again for us personally.

Jacob met God at Bethel - actually , he later named it Bethel.  It was called, "Luz," a Canaanite name.  It serves as a type of coming out of death, sin, Adam, into Christ.  Our names have been changed - we are not Gentiles anymore - but children of the Living God.  We are IN Christ.

Jacob spoke of Bethel in this way:  "This is none other than the house of God."

Well praise the Lord, we abide in the Tabernacle above. And we ourselves, as God says, our His habitation through His Spirit - the temple as the Lord's body.  Ephesians 2.

So may we have a real paradigm shift - which is to let the Lord be the Lord - let the Lord lead - not make Him up according to our own image, but simply allow Him to reveal Himself in truth, in every way.  This is a yielded heart  - the heart He is looking for - and we can all do this by grace through faith.

Proclaim and declare like Paul:  "My determined purpose is that I may KNOW Him, and the power of His resurrection..."

"Oh Glorious Father - have Your way in us.  We shall not be disappointed."  Amen.
