Romans 4 is the
pauper's treasure he/she's been looking for all their lives.
Through Christ Jesus, we've been given a Heavenly Bank
Account. But this account is not a
"what's in it," but "Who is in it?"
When we believed the Gospel, received God's Son, God poured
His Son, Christ Jesus into our account.
The Son of God is the Only Righteous One, the Beloved Son, the Perfect Man, the ALL in
ALL for us to have eternal life: for
Christ is Life.
There are only two bank accounts man can draw from in this
life. Flesh or spirit.
In Christ Jesus, we have been placed now into the Living
Spirit of God - made alive from DEAD flesh in trespasses and sins.
We are to draw from the NEW ACCOUNT. Christ Himself is Life, Righteousness, Fruit,
Goodness, Mercy, Peace, Grace, and Heir of God.
We are joint-heirs.
How do we make withdrawals?
Faith. Daily
trusting in the Living God, in the Living Son - daily looking into this
Glorious Word of Life to be reminded of our great salvation. I dare say we need daily reminders of
withdrawing from God's Account. We can
stimulate each other to make those withdrawals of Christ's Life on a daily
basis.
"I am crucified
with Christ - it is no longer I who live.
But the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in/of the Son of
God who loved me (still does) and gave Himself for me." Galatians 2:20
"The just shall
LIVE by faith."
"Therefore,
having been justified by faith
(believing God), we have PEACE with God through our Lord Jesus Christ
(our heavenly account), through WHOM also we have ACCESS (password) by faith
into this grace in which we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of
God." Romans 5:1,2
If we, as children of God, are making ourselves as the
account we draw from for life, living, fruit, works - what are we going to
get?
"Not that we are
sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our
sufficiency is from God." II
Corinthians 3:5
BUT, if we as children of God, live solely from the truth of
God's great salvation found in His Word, by the Spirit's power and enablement
to comprehend, seize, possess, receive the all in all found in Christ Jesus our
Lord, what shall we find?
Joshua and Caleb are types in the Old Testament of believing
God and going in to possess that which God Himself initiated, promised, swore
by oath to give to the children of Israel.
They were the ONLY two whole went on to fully possess with courage, ALL
that God had promised.
In short - they believed God. They were NOT operating from
their own merit - only by God's promise.
There are so many WONDERFUL truths to place our trust in as
found in God's New Covenant of Life in Christ.
And it is our faith - our daily faith, leaning entirely on the Lord for
our all in all, that causes us to realize in greater measure, the reality of
God's great promise in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
God truly wants us to make daily withdrawals through
dependency, faith, believing in His Son.
He has promised that through Him we shall bear MUCH fruit for His glory. The Holy Spirit of God dwells in us to
empower us to COMPREHEND and APPREHEND God's Son in our hearts.
As we individually discover the wonders of God's Treasure in
Jesus, we definitely will "ditch" the other account and no longer
compare ourselves among ourselves, being followers of men, BUT glory and boast
together in Christ Jesus who has given us all the same account!
"All the
treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ Jesus."
