There is no comparison at all between religion and the
Redeemer Himself. For our Redeemer truly
is a Person and we get to know Him by His Word and the Holy Spirit. We are definitely not called to religion -
only to the Living God.
Jesus Christ breathes.
He is in bodily form in the heavenly places. The Scriptures call Him, the Man Christ Jesus
- Mediator between us and God. When He
was resurrected, He was given a glorified body.
The Scriptures show us He is sitting at the Right Hand of
God - the Majesty on High. Also, that
He stood up when Stephen was being stoned - martyred for the faith in Him. God allowed Stephen to see Him doing this.
Sometimes we really do treat the Holy Word of God as the
"do" book - almost like the Saturday list Gary used to get from his
earthly father. I have shared before he
did not experience the love of his earthly father. Without the experience of love in his home,
it resulted in what goes on today in so many lives and homes - sinful
devastation, sorrow and conflict.
All these things here on earth are tragedies, sorrows and
sufferings. But our God has offered this
GREAT SALVATION - the wonderful gift of God.
When receiving a gift from anyone, it is a good idea to
"unpack" the gift. Otherwise,
it would be like standing around admiring the box and bow, but never knowing
what is inside.
God surely grants us the gift of being born again when we
believe - then His Holy Spirit coming in to reside in these human vessels.
Oh my goodness - there is so much more. We must "unpack" the gift of our
Lord within our hearts. For Jesus said
to the woman at the well, "If you knew the Gift of God - and WHO it is who
says to you..."
The past few days have been special for my heart. The Lord's Spirit, through His Word, has been
highlighting God as Father.
He is impressing upon my heart that we need to know the WHO
behind the Son of God. I do not think
any of us really understand the Trinity:
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
However, there is no reason we cannot ENJOY God as three Persons, yet
One.
God has truly put emphasis on His Son, Jesus Christ - for
because of Him and through Him we do indeed have Redemption - and we are
members of Him.
Yet Jesus on earth had communion with the Father -
everything about His life was about the Father - what His will was/is - what He
was/is saying - what He was/is doing - about the Father's plan - the Father's
business.
Our redemption in Christ Jesus was also to bring us to the
Father God as sons and daughters of the Living God. God is the "Father of spirits," as
Hebrews 12 records. The Father trains
sons - plain and simple. Do we really
want the Father's Hand or do we simply want religion, avoiding reality of Him
and His dealings with us as sons?
God wants us to know Him as Father and the deep love He is
for each and everyone. No, I did not
make a "typo." I really mean
to say the love that He IS - not has.
There is NO measure to His love - none - nor no measure to
Himself.
He invites us to find out.
May we know - the length, the depth, the breadth and the
height...
In His Love,
Sue Gaither
